A Photographic Series on the Beauty of Imperfection

Transience, fracture, quiet presence.
The series Wabi-Sabi explores moments when things lose their perfection and gain something deeper: dignity, character, truth.

Four minimalist still lifes.
A veiled physalis, a broken branch, a ceramic bowl repaired with kintsugi, and an extinguished candle.
Each tells a quiet story of time, change, and vulnerability.
These images are not polished or loud! But real, concentrated, and calm.
They invite stillness, close observation, and perhaps the insight that true beauty often begins where we stop searching.

Covered

The husk is almost transparent, yet it still protects. The fruit inside remains. What fades often reveals most clearly what truly matters. Delicacy is not a sign of weakness.

Broken

A branch, broken by the wind, still charged with tension. It no longer holds its line, yet it remains. The wood shows where it yielded, and also that it did not fall. A break is not an end, only a new state.

Scarred

The bowl is whole again, but not as before. What was once broken now carries a seam of gold. Not concealed, but emphasized. Repair as a trace. Damage as part of the form.

Isch Over

The wick is blackened, still faintly glowing, as the smoke drifts away. Something has ended. No light remains, but warmth lingers in the gaze. What has passed has not lost its worth.
